About
Thanart Rasanon, aka Pete, is an organizer, researcher, music producer, musician & DJ. Currently, run "blozxom", cutting edge's cultural research & development project. Also, exchanges and introduces friends from different towns in the world who create fascinating, charming or innovative things in culture.
He is an alumnus of Goethe Talents 2020 program. His latest work, ‘Memory Journey’ (2019), is a mini album with each track accompanied by a memoir relating to multiple personal experiences. These include an ode to his grandmother's life, care for wildlife sanctuary and forestry conversation, his advertising music day job, hanging out with friends, and meeting his girlfriend and her family in Japan. Overall, 'Memory Journey' is his personalized political and social observations.
In 2016, he played at the 'Asian Meeting Festival 2016' in Japan as “Pete TR”. This festival involved various international Asian experimental/improvisation artists playing together in the Japanese cities Tokyo, Kobe, and Kyoto, and was curated by Otomo Yoshihide and the Far East Network with supported by the Japan Foundation.
He also premiered a live soundtrack for the 2010 Cannes Palme d'Or award-winning Thai film director Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s 2015 short film ‘Vapour’ at the 20th Busan Film Festival, in Busan, South Korea. In 2018, He had composed and mixed for the 2013 Venice Biennale Thai Artist, Arin Rungjang’s short video ‘Voyage' in “From Le Brassus to Bangkok,” an Audemars Piguet’s Exhibition at the Central Embassy, in Bangkok, Thailand.
His project “Sense & Soul” (2017) was an immersive performance at “LIVE CUBE”, in Bangkok. It was a collaboration with lighting Designer “Prapatsorn Sukkaset” & visual Projection Designer “Sirasith Poopattanapong”, explores the relationship of human sense and mind through sound, music, taste, scent, visuals, and lighting.
He also volunteers for Dublab, a Non-profit radio station based in Los Angeles, CA. His monthly show "M.SEA Vibe", Explore, Exchange and Connect the vibe of Mainland Southeast Asia and the Global innovative music.
He has dj & performed in notable places such as Ace Hotel (Los Angeles), H0L0 (Brooklyn), Red Bull Studio (Tokyo), Metro (Kyoto), Art Village Center (Kobe), JAM (Bangkok), The Edge (Chiangmai)
